Just Asking . . .

Can we just eliminate the word "towards" altogether?

I mean, is there ANY place where "toward" wouldn't work just as well? 'Cept, maybe on a farm?

i actually researched this recently because i got into an argument over it with someone at...ahem...an ad agency that we'll leave unmentioned. :) "towards" isn't incorrect, although it's typically a british usage only. toward is more commonly accepted as the american usage. :) i like toward! i hate towards!

Too funny. And, for the record, no one said it was incorrect, just unnecessary, like pillows on Delta planes, apparently, when going toward your destination. Anyone have a recent airplane nightmare story?
