I don't believe in the whole ASAP thing because when someone says, "I need that ASAP," aren't they REALLY saying, "I need that NOW!"?
And since Now is like NOW, isn't the request pretty much a lost cause because NOW just passed, so then when do they want it next? Now? And NOW? And NOW? Can't win.
It's like they're setting us all up to fail. Give me a time, man.
'Now' is too demanding! And who wants to come off demanding. What, your time table doesn't align with mine?...now that is crap. The time is ASAP because 'Now' as you described as impossible. ASAP is kind, polite and saying...yes, I honor that you have other commitments, but please help me meet mine as soon as you can....when it is convenient for you...but also for me! ;)
Which is why the better option is to give a TIME when you need it, because , truth be told, ASAP to MANY ASAPers is just their way of saying NOW (another reason you always see ASAP in ALL CAPS, I presume. They're SCREAMIN' as us).
