Think Fast

What do you do when you're chatting over lunch with a friend and some of their saliva flies out onto your food?

Sure, it WAS an accident and you ARE friends, but still, it's
spit. How do YOU respond?

Ignore it? Chew in denial? Be grateful for bonus moisture? Slide it? Tell them? Return the favor? Keep eating, realizing at least You know where that saliva's been, sorta?

In a split second, what?

Ok - for real - I had a dear friend get an ice cream with me in the hot summer, and while I started the car, the friend held my ice cream cone. So, my ice crea started dripping and my friend totally LICKED the sides of my ice cream cone to stop the drips. All I could think was - OK - my friend's spouse isn't dead from kissing my friend, so I guess I'll finish my ice cream. And I did.

I find that saying 'dude, that's gross...' acknowledging it before I eat the rest...is best.

Ice creamers--What a trusting soul. To trust the tongue of another, especially when it has toured one's ice cream, is admirable. Isn't that when the eye twitch started, tho?
